"Men's Altra® Timp 6 Hiker GTX: The Altra® Timp 6 Hiker GTX is a men's waterproof hiking shoe built for hikers who want to stay comfortable and protected from a quick local trail to a full day out in the backcountry. The GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper keeps water out while staying lightweight and breathable, so your feet stay dry without feeling like you're wearing a heavy boot. A mid-ankle design adds support where you need it, and the zero-drop platform keeps your foot in a natural position throughout the hike. The Altra EGO™ MAX midsole foam gives the shoe a cushioned, lively feel underfoot - noticeable on longer days when your feet start to fatigue. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole handles wet rocks, loose dirt, and everything in between with confident traction. Altra's FootShape™ Fit gives your toes room to spread naturally while keeping the midfoot locked in, and the GaiterTrap™ tab makes it easy to attach a gaiter without any extra hardware. The 0 mm drop and roomy toe box are signature Altra features that set this shoe apart for hikers who prefer a more natural foot position. Sizing runs half a size small, so consider sizing up.Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a longer trail day with some creek crossings and my feet stayed completely dry the whole time. The toe box is noticeably roomy compared to most hiking shoes, which made a real difference by mile eight. If you're used to Altra's fit, this one feels right at home on the trail."" - Dave, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, San Diego, CAWho It's Best ForIf you're a hiker who wants waterproof protection, natural toe room, and a cushioned feel for all-day trail use, the Timp 6 Hiker GTX is worth a close look.
