"Women's Merrell® Speed Arc Matis GTX: The Speed Arc Matis GTX is a women's fast hiking shoe from Merrell that moves comfortably between everyday streets and rugged trails. If you want a shoe that handles both without feeling like a compromise, this one is worth a look. The GORE-TEX waterproof membrane keeps your feet dry in wet conditions while still allowing airflow, so you're not stuck choosing between protection and breathability. It's the kind of shoe that makes sense for hikers and active walkers who want reliable performance across changing terrain and weather.Under the foot, FloatPro Foam in the midsole keeps the ride light and comfortable over longer distances. The Vibram MegaGrip outsole gives you confident traction on both wet and dry surfaces - a real advantage when trails get unpredictable. FlexPlate technology adds torsional rigidity and lateral stability while keeping the forefoot flexible, so the shoe moves with you rather than against you. The breathable mesh and TPU upper work together with a padded collar and molded TPU heel counter to keep your foot secure without feeling locked down. Inside, a 100% recycled mesh lining and footbed cover treated with Cleansport NXT™ help manage odor on longer outings. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I took these out on a mixed route - some pavement, some dirt trail - and they handled both without any awkward transition. The Vibram outsole grips well even on wet rock, and the waterproofing held up when I hit a muddy section. They feel supportive without being stiff, which is exactly what you want when you're on your feet for a few hours."" - Sawyer, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Wilmette ILWho It's Best ForIf you hike regularly and want a shoe that can handle wet weather, mixed terrain, and longer days on your feet, the Speed Arc Matis GTX is a strong fit. It works well for women who move between urban walks and trail hikes and don't want a different shoe for each. The waterproof construction and grippy outsole make it especially useful in shoulder seasons when conditions are harder to predict.
