This rifle began its life as an Arisaka, complete with the Chrysanthemum emblem on top of the receiver. The stock and barrel were modernized and sporterized sometime after its initial production, and the firearm now resembles a Remington or Winchester more than the original design. There are no visible import marks on the rifle, which means it was likely an early bring-back or trophy from somewhere in the Pacific Islands.
