Rio Ammunition Game Load BlueSteel Features The Rio Ammunition Game Load BlueSteel is built around a steel number 5 shot payload weighing 1-1/8 oz a combination tuned to deliver dense even patterns on dove-sized birds at typical field ranges. A muzzle velocity of 1360 feet per second keeps the shot string moving fast enough to connect on crossing and incoming birds without excessive recoil. The 2.75 inch shell length makes this load compatible with the vast majority of 12 gauge shotguns used for upland and dove hunting. Rio engineers its Game Load line across a broad range of shot sizes and payload weights specifically to match different game and hunting conditions. Because this is a steel shot loading it is suited to hunters who need non-toxic shot for waterfowl-adjacent hunting grounds or wildlife management areas that restrict lead. The BlueSteel designation reflects Rio s steel shot construction which patterns reliably through modern chokes built for steel loads. Packed 25 rounds to a box this load gives hunters a ready supply for a full day in the dove field. Rio s Game Load BlueSteel is a practical field-proven choice for hunters who want dependable performance on everything from early-season mourning dove to high-flying white-wing dove.
