Rio Ammunition Blue Steel Dove Load Features The Rio Ammunition Blue Steel Dove Load pairs #6 steel shot with a 1 oz payload delivering a muzzle velocity of 1350 fps for effective performance on fast agile dove targets. Wingshooting demands a load that patterns well at typical field ranges and this combination of shot size and velocity is tuned specifically for that challenge. Steel shot construction gives hunters a non-toxic option required in many dove fields and public hunting areas. Rio designed this load as part of a lineup built around the payloads and velocities needed to bag birds while supporting sustainable lead-free hunting practices. The 2.75 shell length fits the widest range of 12 gauge shotguns used in the dove field from lightweight over-unders to pump actions. A low brass plastic hull construction keeps the shell lightweight for carrying a full box afield during a day of wingshooting. Sold in a 25-round box this load gives hunters a practical supply for a morning or evening dove hunt. For hunters who need dependable non-toxic performance on fast-moving dove and similar small game the Rio Blue Steel Dove Load delivers consistent results in the field.
