Savage Axis 2 Compact XP Features The Savage Arms Axis 2 Compact XP is chambered in 7mm-08 and built around a 20 barrel with a 1-in-9.5 twist rate that stabilizes a wide range of 7mm-08 bullet weights for both deer sized and larger game hunting applications. The 4 round detachable box magazine allows hunters to top off or swap loads quickly in the field a meaningful advantage over fixed internal magazines when conditions change fast during a hunt. A user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets hunters fine-tune trigger pull weight to their preference improving shot consistency in the field. A two position top tang safety sits within easy reach of the thumb for fast quiet manipulation when game appears unexpectedly and the bolt action itself is built on Savage s well proven Axis platform known for reliable feeding and consistent accuracy. At just 7.5 pounds unloaded and 39.5 inches overall this rifle carries easily through rough terrain without wearing down a hunter over a long day afield. The Flat Dark Earth synthetic stock resists moisture temperature swings and the bumps and scrapes that come with rugged field use far better than a traditional wood stock keeping the rifle s point of impact consistent across seasons while the metal components carry a matte black finish for a clean functional contrast. Integral sling swivel studs come factory installed so hunters can attach a sling immediately without any gunsmithing or aftermarket parts. The compact scaling of this XP variant shortens length of pull and overall length compared to a standard Axis 2 making it a strong fit for younger smaller or shorter statured shooters who need a rifle that fits them properly. This package ships complete with a 3-9x40 scope rounding out a lightweight dependable ready-to-hunt rifle available for sale at GrabAGun for hunters who want a compact 7mm-08 built to go anywhere the season takes them.
