Savage Axis 2 XP Features The Savage Axis 2 XP centers on a heavy sporter carbon-steel barrel with a 1-in-9.5 twist rate a profile that adds forward weight to steady aim while remaining light enough for a day of carrying in the field. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger with a pull weight range of 2.50 to 6 lbs lets each shooter dial in a crisp personal trigger break rather than living with a fixed factory setting. A drilled and tapped carbon-steel receiver paired with two Weaver-style bases and a factory mounted boresighted 3-9x40mm scope with fully multi-coated lenses means the rifle is ready for final zeroing without separate mounting work. Toolless windage and elevation adjustments on the scope let hunters make fast corrections in the field without carrying extra tools. The fixed Matte OD Green synthetic stock gives this Axis 2 XP a distinctive look that stands apart from the standard black option while its compact left-hand-specific geometry and 13.75 length of pull are built to fit smaller-framed and left-handed shooters properly rather than as an afterthought. The redesigned bolt handle carries a sleeker more ergonomic shape that stays easy to grip and cycle in cold or wet conditions and the updated stock texturing improves hold under recoil. A matte black metal finish on the barrel and receiver resists glare in the field complementing the OD green furniture for a rifle built to go straight from the box to the woods.
