Savage AXIS 2 Compact Features The Savage AXIS 2 Compact is built on a redesigned platform with improved ergonomics over the original AXIS including an updated bolt handle that enhances control and comfort during operation in rain or cold weather. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger allows shooters to tune trigger pull weight to their preference delivering a crisp repeatable break that helps improve accuracy in the field. Thread-in headspacing ensures tight consistent chamber tolerances that contribute directly to the rifle s tack-driving accuracy potential. A detachable box magazine feeds the 20 inch button-rifled free-floating barrel which is drilled and tapped for scope mounting right out of the box. The compact OD Green synthetic stock features a pistol grip with ambidextrous palm swells and enhanced texturing for a secure hold in any weather condition. Its shortened dimensions make the rifle easier to maneuver in tight hunting blinds or dense cover and its lighter overall weight reduces fatigue on long treks. A steel recoil pad softens felt recoil while sling swivel studs allow quick attachment of a carry sling. For hunters who want proven Savage accuracy in a more compact easier-handling package the AXIS 2 Compact is a dependable affordable choice.
