NSN, circa early 1800s, .65 caliber, 51 1/2" octagonal barrel with a lightly flared muzzle. Barrel exhibits a smooth grey patina with scattered brown areas throughout. Secured by eight brass barrel bands and an additional wide brass sheet that wraps around both sides of the stock. The lock plate is marked with a "Crown/GR," and the rear is stamped "SHERWOOD" in a gentle arc. The stock remains in very good condition with crisp checkering at the wrist and finely carved details around the barrel tang and buttstock. Action holds securely at both half and full cock. (AL5759)
