The 1973 Ruger Security-Six is a legendary, mid-size double-action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, highly regarded for its tank-like durability and reliability. Originally introduced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. to challenge Smith & Wesson's dominance in the law enforcement market, this early-production model features a remarkably strong, one-piece investment-cast steel frame designed to withstand an endless diet of heavy magnum loads without shooting loose. The 1973 variants typically showcase a classic blued finish, standard checkered wood grips, a six-round capacity, and fully adjustable target sights that made it a favorite among police officers and civilian marksmen alike. The condition is very good. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The blueing is starting to give way to a slight plumb patina on the crane. The after market Merrell's wood grips are also very good. A cylinder line and carbon rings are present. It comes as pictured with no extras.
