Shadow Systems CR920X Foundation, 9mm, 15rd, Optics Ready, Black, PistolThe Shadow Systems CR920X Foundation is a slim, high-capacity 9mm pistol built for concealed carry without giving up the grip and control of a larger handgun. This version wears a black frame with a black slide and black barrel, carries 15+1 rounds with a flush-fit magazine, and is cut at the factory for direct mounting of a micro red dot. The Foundation Series keeps the features that matter on a carry gun, including the patented multi-footprint optic cut, front and rear slide serrations, an accessory rail and a match-grade barrel, and leaves out the cosmetic extras. Like every Shadow Systems pistol, it is made in the USA.The CR920X PlatformShadow Systems describes the CR920X as the ultra-thin, high-capacity version of its CR920 subcompact. It keeps the slim slide and narrow profile of the CR920 but adds a longer grip, so most shooters get full backstrap contact in the palm of the hand instead of the minimalist hold of the smaller gun. That extra grip length gives more control over the pistol and makes long range sessions more comfortable, while the slim width still disappears under a shirt. The 15-round CR920X magazine also feeds and functions in the smaller CR920, so owners of both pistols can share magazines across the platform.Foundation Series: The Essentials Done RightThe Foundation Series grew out of conversations with experienced shooters who care more about function than looks. Each Foundation pistol is built on the same frames and to the same quality standards as the rest of the Shadow Systems lineup, with sleek ergonomics, real-world shootability and dependable reliability. Foundation slides carry pocket-cut serrations at the front and rear for positive manipulation, and the barrel is a smooth-finish version of the Shadow Systems match-grade barrel instead of the spiral fluted barrel found on Elite models.Patented Multi-Footprint Optic CutThe slide is machined with the Shadow Systems patented multi-footprint optic cut, which accepts many popular duty-rated micro red dots directly, with no adapter plates. Included spacers key-lock into the slide for a zero-fit condition, and large screws hold the optic firmly enough to rack the slide off of it. The low mounting position gives a lower 1/3 co-witness with the standard height iron sights that come on the pistol, so there is no need to change sights after adding an optic. Pair it with one of our red dot sights to finish the setup.Frame and ErgonomicsThe textured polymer frame sits low in the hand, with an extended, upswept beavertail and a deep trigger guard undercut that let the shooter grip high on the gun. Aggressive wrap-around texture gives a secure hold in any weather while staying comfortable for daily carry, and a textured recoil control ledge gives the support-hand thumb a place to work against muzzle rise. An accessory rail accepts a compact weapon light for low-light carry and home defense.Barrel, Trigger and InternalsShadow Systems match-grade barrels are machined in house, conventionally rifled with a 1:10 inch twist, and checked for concentricity. Lug geometry and barrel hood fit are slightly tighter than a standard barrel without hurting reliability. The flat-faced trigger and proprietary trigger bar give a smooth 4.5 to 5.0 lb pull with a crisp, tactile reset, and every drop safety is retained for a carry-safe striker-fired design. Guide rods are machined steel rather than molded plastic, internal slide parts are machined from billet stainless steel, and the enhanced loaded chamber indicator extractor is serrated so you can check it by feel in the dark.SpecificationsBrandShadow SystemsModelCR920X FoundationManufacturer Part NumberSS-5306-BUPC810120317991Caliber9mmCapacity15+1MagazinesTwo 15-round magazinesActionStriker fired, semi-automaticFrameTextured polymer, blackSlideBlack, Foundation Series with front and rear serrationsBarrelMatch grade, smooth finish, blackRiflingConventional, 1:10 in twistTriggerFlat faced, 4.5 to 5.0 lb pullOptic ReadyYes, patented multi-footprint optic cutAccessory RailYesHolster FitG43X MOS / G48 MOS holstersCountry of OriginUSAWho It Is ForConcealed carriers who want 15+1 capacity in a slim, easy-to-hide pistolShooters who plan to run a micro red dot on their carry gunOwners of the CR920 who want a longer grip that shares magazinesHome defense with a compact weapon light on the accessory railNew and experienced shooters who prefer function over cosmetic upgradesFrequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the capacity of the CR920X Foundation? It holds 15+1 rounds of 9mm with the flush-fit 15-round magazine, and it comes with two 15-round magazines. Is the CR920X Foundation optics ready?Yes.
