Ultra Rare WWII Winchester M1 Garand "WIN-13" Receiver (.30-06 Springfield) Estimated Value ($4800-$5700) For advanced U.S. military arms collectors, the Winchester M1 Garand represents the pinnacle of WWII small-arms manufacturing. Among all Winchester variations, none hold the mythos and collector demand of the elusive WIN-13 revision. The Legend of the "WIN-13" Drawing Number In late 1944 and early 1945, as Winchester Repeating Arms Company worked to fulfill its wartime contract for the U.S. Military, ordnance specifications required updates to the receiver drawing numbers to track minor design revisions. When Winchester updated its drawing dies to D28291WIN-13, only a small fractional block of receivers was produced under this specific marking before war-era production ended in 1945. Because of this short production window, authentic WIN-13 stamped receivers are widely considered the holy grail of Winchester Garand collecting. Most WWII Garands were rebuilt or mixed across arsenals during post-war armory re-examinations, making an original WIN-13 receiver paired with a matching set of WWII Winchester small parts extraordinarily difficult to source.
