The Model 1917 is one of the most historic military handguns ever produced by Smith & Wesson. Designed to supplement the legendary M1911 pistol during World War I, the M1917 was designed for the .45 ACP cartridge and was among the first revolvers to utilize moon clips to hold rimless cartridges in place. Now recreated for the modern day, the Model 1917 Classic is built as a faithful reproduction to the original design while incorporating modern manufacturing techniques to provide the reliability and durability of a modern revolver. The revolver features a 5.5-inch barrel with a 6-shot cylinder and a classic blued finish.
