A rocky, rooty XC climb asks every pedal stroke to stay planted, and the Wolf Tooth ALT XC Performance Clipless Pedal is an SPD-compatible clipless pedal whose 443-square-millimeter platform puts the shoe in contact with the pedal body, not just the cleat and cage. A 15-millimeter profile lowers the chance of pedal strikes on rocks and roots, and an open center between the cages sheds mud. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"The Q factor adjusts in three positions by rearranging the spacers and bearings inside the pedal, so I can set stance width to the rider and not the other way around. That swap happens at home, which saves a shop visit when a fit changes."
