"ASICS® METAFUJI TRAIL 2: The METAFUJI TRAIL 2 is a neutral trail running shoe built for runners who push hard on technical terrain and need a shoe that can keep up. It pairs two distinct midsole foams - FF LEAP™ and FF BLAST™ PLUS - to create a ride that absorbs impact without killing your momentum. FF LEAP™ is ASICS' lightest midsole foam, tuned for energy return and forward propulsion, while FF BLAST™ PLUS adds a cushioned, responsive layer that keeps the ride from feeling harsh over rough ground. Together, they make long miles on the trail feel more manageable without adding unnecessary weight underfoot.Under that midsole sits an X-shaped full-length carbon plate, positioned specifically to improve stability on uneven terrain - so when you hit roots, rocks, or unpredictable surfaces, the shoe helps you stay composed and keep moving. The engineered woven upper wraps the foot without the bulk of extra overlays, keeping the fit streamlined and secure. An ankle collar construction with speed laces and an integrated lace pocket means you can dial in the fit quickly and stay focused on the run. The ASICSGRIP™ outsole rubber rounds things out with traction across a variety of trail conditions. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I put these on for a long trail run with a lot of rocky sections, and what stood out was how stable they felt without being stiff. The carbon plate really does help on uneven ground - I wasn't second-guessing my footing the way I sometimes do. The foam combo keeps the ride cushioned but not mushy, which is exactly what I want when I'm out for a few hours."" - Hallie, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Phoenix AZWho It's Best ForIf you run long distances on technical trails and want a shoe that balances cushioning with real stability on uneven terrain, the METAFUJI TRAIL 2 is worth a close look.
