PPU Rifle Ammunition Features The PPU 8X56R Hungarian load answers a real need for shooters who own classic 8x56R Mannlicher chambered rifles a caliber that has become difficult to source reliably in recent years. Each cartridge is built on a brass case with a boxer primer meaning spent cases can be collected and reloaded by handloaders looking to stretch their investment in this less common caliber. The 208 grain soft point bullet is designed to expand reliably on impact while still penetrating deeply enough for hunting or target applications. A muzzle velocity of 2 297 feet per second and muzzle energy of 2 437 foot pounds give this load solid performance for its intended rifle platforms. Because this ammunition is non-corrosive shooters do not need the same immediate post-range cleaning regimen required by older corrosive-primed surplus ammunition protecting barrel life and reducing maintenance time. Packaged 20 rounds to a box this ammunition offers a practical quantity for range sessions or hunting trips without requiring a large upfront purchase. For owners of vintage Mannlicher rifles chambered in 8x56R finding a consistent well-made commercial load like this one keeps older firearms shooting rather than sitting unused. This PPU load is a dependable way to keep a classic 8x56R rifle in active service.
