Luth-AR A2 Handguard Features The Luth-AR A2 Handguard is a two piece clamshell design built to recreate the classic look of earlier AR-15 military-style rifles giving a retro build the correct profile and proportions. Sized to carbine length with a 6 9/16 inch overall length it fits standard carbine gas system builds without requiring custom fitting or trimming to get the correct look. Durable polymer construction keeps the handguard lightweight which means it adds minimal bulk or weight to the front of the rifle and preserves the handling balance builders expect from a carbine length setup. Integrated aluminum heat shields help protect the shooter s supporting hand from barrel heat buildup during extended strings of fire a detail that matters during range sessions or training drills where the barrel sees sustained use. Finished in black the handguard matches the vast majority of factory AR-15 finishes and blends cleanly into most builds without clashing with other furniture or coatings. Its comfortable grip and improved control over the handguard area support better accuracy and stability on target since a stable supporting hand position translates directly into a steadier sight picture and more consistent shot placement. The handguard is designed for minimal added weight keeping the rifle s balance close to original factory specifications so the completed build handles the way the retro platform originally did. The two piece clamshell design also makes installation straightforward clamping around the barrel without the need to remove the front sight base or other hardware. For builders working on a retro-style AR-15 project who want both an authentic appearance and reliable heat protection the Luth-AR A2 Handguard is a straightforward functional upgrade that rounds out the correct period-accurate look.
