KA-BAR Slabby Features The KA-BAR Slabby is built full tang from 1095 Cro-Van steel a carbon steel alloy known for holding a sharp utility edge while remaining tough enough to resist chipping under hard use. The blade measures 6-9/10 with a thickness of .1875 giving it substantial mass for chopping prying and heavy cutting tasks beyond what a typical fixed blade can handle. A plain edge keeps the blade straightforward to resharpen in the field without the complexity of a serrated section. Manufactured entirely in the USA the Slabby reflects KA-BAR s long-standing commitment to domestic production and quality control. The slab-style handle is made from black glass-filled nylon a material chosen for its durability and resistance to impact and moisture compared to traditional wood handles. At 12.1 overall and 1.1 lb the Slabby has real heft that signals its oversized hand-tank design intent right away. The included sheath is injection molded and built in the USA with two separate locks ensuring the blade stays securely retained during transport or storage. For users who want a rugged full tang utility knife built to handle demanding outdoor or camp tasks the KA-BAR Slabby delivers an overbuilt option made to last.
