GunTec Spitfire Muzzle Brake Features The GunTec Spitfire Muzzle Brake is machined from steel with a nitride finish that reduces felt concussion in close quarters environments making it a practical choice for AR-15 pistol builds where overall length is shorter and blast is more pronounced. At 2.5 inches in length and a 1.5 inch outer diameter the brake is compact enough to avoid adding significant bulk to the front of the rifle. Threaded to the common 1/2x28 pitch the Spitfire fits 5.56 .223 and 9mm caliber barrels sharing that thread specification. The combined weight of the muzzle brake and blast shield comes in at 9.7 ounces keeping the overall package manageable. A quick detach blast shield threads down directly over the muzzle brake further reducing felt recoil and concussion when installed particularly useful in close quarters or indoor range environments. The shield can be removed when a lower profile setup is preferred giving the shooter flexibility depending on the situation. Manufactured in Scottsdale Arizona the Spitfire reflects GunTec s commitment to producing muzzle devices domestically. For AR-15 pistol owners looking to manage concussion and recoil without sacrificing a compact overall length the GunTec Spitfire Muzzle Brake with blast shield is a purpose built solution.
