Franklin Armory Rabbit Rounds Features The Franklin Armory Rabbit Rounds load four .180 diameter lead BB shot projectiles into each 5.56x45mm casing giving shooters a true shotshell-style pattern from a standard AR-platform rifle. A thermoplastic sabot contains and guides the shot cluster through the bore while a copper gas check manages pressure and seals the cartridge for consistent performance round to round. At a combined 45 grain projectile assembly weight the load is tuned to maintain an effective pattern out to 50 yards making it well suited to small game and pest elimination at realistic field distances. From a 16 barrel the load is rated at 2620 fps at 50 yards giving the shot cluster enough energy to be effective at that range. Because Rabbit Rounds function through a standard 5.56 NATO chamber and magazine shooters can run them through their existing AR-15 without any modification or dedicated shotgun. This makes the load a convenient option for pest control around a homestead farm or hunting camp where a dedicated shotgun may not be practical to carry. The specialty shot design also offers a lower risk of overpenetration compared to a standard rifle projectile at close range on small targets. Packed 20 rounds to a box Franklin Armory Rabbit Rounds give AR owners a purpose-built easy-to-source solution for small game and pest control tasks.
