Faxon Firearms Ion Ultralight Complete Upper Features The Faxon Ion Ultralight pairs a 5.56 NATO pencil contour barrel with an integral 3-port brake a combination that meets the NFA 16 inch minimum barrel length requirement while keeping weight forward of the receiver to a minimum. The pencil profile sheds mass compared to a government or heavy contour barrel a meaningful advantage for shooters who carry a rifle for extended periods or prioritize fast handling. A Faxon enhanced forged upper receiver provides the structural foundation for the build finished to accept standard AR-15 components without modification. The nitride finished steel barrel resists corrosion and wear giving the lightweight build long term durability despite its reduced mass. A 13 inch carbon fiber M-LOK handguard continues the weight savings theme shedding ounces compared to an aluminum handguard of the same length while still providing M-LOK slots for lights grips and other accessories. The Faxon Gunner lightweight bolt carrier group reduces reciprocating mass which can translate into softer recoil impulse and faster follow up shots. A multi-position adjustable gas block lets the shooter tune the system for different ammunition and suppressor use while the enhanced ambidextrous charging handle improves manipulation for both right and left handed shooters. At an assembled weight of just 3.1 pounds this complete upper gives builders a genuinely lightweight 5.56 platform made in the USA.
