Caldwell Ultimate Steel Target Stand Features The Caldwell Ultimate Steel Target Stand uses an H-stand design that allows shooters to set up targets on almost any range surface without the need to drive posts or stakes deep into the ground which is especially useful on hard-packed or rocky range floors. The angled center 2x4 pocket is built to accept a 2x4 wooden post and can be combined with a Caldwell 2x4 plate hanger sold separately to hang AR500 steel targets including full-size IPSC silhouettes without the stand tipping over under impact. This dual-purpose approach means the same stand handles both heavy steel targets and lighter paper or cardboard targets depending on which pocket is used. The 1x2 stake pockets on either side of the stand are specifically sized for standard paper and cardboard target backers at common shooting distances. Two ground stakes are included with the stand giving shooters an extra option for securing the stand in softer ground conditions when added stability is needed. The stand s design keeps setup and teardown fast letting shooters move between target positions quickly during a range session without complicated assembly. Caldwell builds this stand as a practical no-frills solution for shooters who need one stand capable of multiple target types rather than purchasing separate stands for steel and paper. For range shooters looking for a flexible reusable target support system the Caldwell Ultimate Steel Target Stand delivers dependable versatility.
