Product Description
More about the rifle. What a great find. This rifle was manufactured for the war effort by the Rock-Ola Jukebox Company. Founded in Chicago in 1927 by David C. Rockola, the Rock-Ola Scale Co. quickly grew and began producing other products. In 1932 the name was changed to Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corp. and its list of products included scales, parking meters, pinball machines, and furniture. However, in the eyes of history, the firm became most closely associated with coin-operated jukeboxes. Large numbers of Rock-Ola jukeboxes were in use from the mid-1930s into the 1950s and well beyond and their styling and sound, as well as their iconic Rock-Ola logo, were highly recognizable. In early 1942 Rock-Ola was approached by the U.S. Army Ordnance Department with a request for them to produce M1-Carbine rifles. The rest as they say is history and Rock-Ola branded M1-carbines have become some of the most highly sought after and collectible carbines in the world. This rifle is is not a re-numbered import and is being sold under the original serial number, 4629329.
