"The J.P. Sauer & Son Model 38H is a classic German semi-automatic pistol chambered in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) and fitted with a 3.25"" barrel. Serial number 306061 places production in the World War II era, making this an attractive piece for both military and collector audiences. This example retains a strong overall appearance with much of its original finish remaining, showing honest handling wear on the slide and high points consistent with age and service. The checkered grips are in very good condition, and the pistol includes a period holster, adding to its collectability and display appeal. What truly sets this Sauer 38H apart is its documented provenance. Included are original WWII U.S. Army capture and bring-back papers dated October 11, 1945, specifically listing the pistol by caliber and serial number, providing rare and desirable historical documentation. The 38H was one of Germany's most advanced service pistols of the war, featuring a unique decocking mechanism and seeing use by military and police personnel throughout the conflict. Chambered in 7.65 Browning (.32 ACP), a cartridge widely adopted across Europe for military, police, and civilian use during the first half of the 20th century, this pistol represents an authentic and well-documented piece of WWII history."
