Competition Cut Receiver: The competition cut on the receiver facilitates faster and easier reloading, making it ideal for dynamic shooting situations. Oversized Controls: The oversized slammer button, charging handle, and safety ensure smooth operation, even in less-than-ideal conditions. Tool-less Recoil Spring: On the inside of the stock, the recoil spring nut now has a tool-less disassembly for easy maintenance of the inertia recoiling spring. Crio Plus Choke System: The Element II utilizes the popular Crio Plus choke system, providing shooters with three included chokes (improved cylinder, modified, full), a choke wrench, and a convenient carrying case. CRIO. The trademark CRIO is a registered trademark of Benelli Armi Spa. Finish and Stock Weatherby specifies the finish on this model as follows: Stock - Hydrodipped Mossy Oak Original Bottomland; Receiver / Barrel / Top Rib - Hydrodipped Mossy Oak Original Bottomland. About the Element Platform The Element II is an inertia-operated semi-auto shotgun. The inertia system uses recoil energy rather than gas to cycle the action, so there are no gas ports, pistons or seals to clean, and the gun runs a wide range of field loads without adjustment. Check the specifications on this page for the chokes and stock dimensions of this exact model. 20 Gauge Chambering The 20 Gauge is chambered for shells up to the length listed in the specifications below. Shorter shells of the same gauge also fit and cycle normally. Choose shot size and choke to match the game: smaller shot and open chokes for close-flushing upland birds and clays, larger shot and tighter chokes for waterfowl and turkey at longer range. Care and Setup Tips Before the season, pattern the shotgun with the loads and chokes you intend to hunt with. Shoot at a large sheet of paper at 30 to 40 yards and check where the center of the pattern lands and how evenly the pellets spread. That tells you which choke and load combination works best and whether the gun shoots where you look. Clean the bore and chokes after each outing, especially after waterfowl hunts in wet or salty conditions, and put a drop of choke tube lube on the threads so the tubes come out easily. Keep the action and stock dry, and store the gun in a dry place. A well kept Weatherby shotgun will last for many seasons. Is It Right for You?
