Vortex Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar Red Dot, 3 MOA/32 MOA Multi-Reticle, Tan Build a carry setup with a clear aiming picture and a coordinated tan finish. The Vortex Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar Red Dot pairs a compact 7075 aluminum housing with a protected emitter and flexible multi-reticle presentation. Its Shield RMS footprint and 1.59-inch length make it an appealing option when you want enclosed protection in a sight sized for a compatible carry pistol. This tan version uses red illumination with a 3 MOA dot and 32 MOA circle. A large viewing window gives you room to find the reticle, while the fixed 1x view and unlimited eye relief keep the sighting arrangement flexible. The included CR2032 battery, mounting accessories and protective cover give you a useful foundation for the completed setup. Bring solar-assisted power and protected multi-reticle viewing to your next outing. Shop the Vortex Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar Red Multi-Reticle Tan at BattleHawk Armory. An aiming picture you can make your own The 3 MOA dot provides a compact center reference, while the 32 MOA circle offers a more prominent visual guide. The multi-reticle design lets you choose the presentation that feels clearest to you. Both elements use red illumination, so the sight retains a consistent color as you select your preferred view. A large window and aspherical lens support an open, useful sight picture. That matters when you are bringing the optic into view repeatedly during practice: the housing should leave you room to find the aiming reference without feeling boxed in. The 1x format also keeps the view unmagnified and straightforward. Enclosed protection for an optic that gets used The fully enclosed 7075 aluminum housing shields the emitter from debris and moisture. That protection helps keep contaminants away from the light path, making the sight an attractive choice for equipment exposed to changing outdoor conditions. Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction add to the focus on dependable everyday use. At 1.59 inches long and 1.30 ounces, the Defender-CCW keeps its dimensions suited to a compact pistol setup. The tan housing adds a distinct appearance without changing the footprint or reticle format. Check the complete pistol and holster arrangement together when choosing the sight. Solar assistance without another power-management task Auto D-TEC detects the available light and draws power from solar or the battery as needed. You can move between lighting conditions without manually selecting the power source. The solar panel complements the CR2032 battery, giving the sight a practical way to use available light while retaining a familiar, replaceable power source. Motion activation wakes the illumination when movement is detected. After 10 minutes of inactivity, automatic shutoff helps conserve power. Together, these features reduce routine attention to the controls, leaving more of your range time for enjoying the firearm and becoming familiar with the sight picture. Battery access and settings that stay convenient The side-loading battery compartment allows a battery change while the optic remains mounted. You can reach the power source without removing the sight simply to open a compartment underneath it. It is a small convenience with lasting value for an optic you plan to use regularly. Button lockout helps prevent unintended setting changes after you have selected the reticle presentation and brightness you prefer. The Fast-Rack textured front adds a defined gripping surface to the housing. These details help the Defender feel like a finished sighting tool, with thought given to handling as well as the view through the lens. Choose the mounting arrangement that fits your firearm The Shield RMS footprint defines the optic interface. Match it to a compatible slide cut, adapter plate or mount, using the hardware appropriate to that combination. The included Picatinny mount offers another attachment option where a suitable rail is available; the footprint does not establish universal fit across every firearm. A 1-degree shim plate, common mounting screw sets and an extended Torx T-10 bit are included with the Defender-CCW. Select the appropriate components for the actual installation, rather than assuming every included screw belongs in every setup. A correct fit lets the compact body and viewing window work as intended.
