Girsan Witness2311 SC9 XXX, 9mm, 3.4" Bull Barrel, 16+1, Black Cerakote, Pistol The Girsan Witness2311 SC9 XXX is a true compact double-stack 1911 built for everyday carry. It keeps the parts and feel that make a 1911 a 1911, like the single-action trigger, grip safety and thumb safety, and packs them into a short, slim frame that still holds 16+1 rounds of 9mm. With a 3.4-inch bull barrel, an all-black Cerakote finish and a reduced grip module, the SC9 XXX is one of the most concealable double-stack 1911s on the market. A Smaller Double-Stack Grip The XXX series grip module is about 25 percent smaller than the earlier Witness2311 double-stack grip. The grip, the magwell and the magazine were all slimmed down together, so the frame is just 1.25 inches wide while the pistol keeps its full 16-round capacity. The result is a 1911 that carries like a compact striker gun but shoots like a 1911. The grip surface uses an aggressive texture that locks the pistol in your hand during recoil, even with sweaty or wet hands. A low-profile magwell at the base of the grip funnels magazines in for faster reloads without adding bulk that prints under a shirt. Check-Mate 16-Round Magazine The SC9 XXX runs on an ultra-slim 16-round magazine developed with Check-Mate for this series. One magazine ships with the pistol. Sixteen in the magazine plus one in the chamber gives you 17 rounds of 9mm in a pistol only about 7 inches long. Bull Barrel and Officer-Size Slide Up top is an officer-length slide over a 3.4-inch bull barrel. A bull barrel locks up directly with the slide instead of using a separate barrel bushing, which keeps the short slide simple and consistent shot to shot. Wide rear slide serrations give you a solid purchase for press checks and racking the slide. Low-profile 3-dot sights are snag-free for carry and quick to pick up at self-defense distances. Classic 1911 Controls, Updated The SC9 XXX keeps the traditional 1911 grip safety, so the pistol will not fire unless it is held in a firing grip. An ambidextrous thumb safety lever lets right- and left-handed shooters carry cocked and locked and sweep the safety off with the shooting thumb. The single-action trigger delivers the short, clean press that 1911 shooters expect. A 4-slot Picatinny rail on the dust cover accepts a compact weapon light or laser. The pistol is compatible with most Staccato CS-style holsters, which gives you a wide choice of carry holsters right away. Black Cerakote Finish The slide and frame are finished in all-black Cerakote. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that resists wear, scratches and corrosion better than traditional bluing, which matters on a gun that rides against your body every day. The black-on-black look is clean and understated. Who It's For If you love the trigger and ergonomics of a 1911 but want more capacity and a smaller footprint for carry, the SC9 XXX is built for you. It is also a strong choice for shooters moving up from a single-stack 1911 who want double-stack capacity without a big, blocky grip. The pistol is backed by the EAA limited lifetime warranty.
