MFR 15.0 M-LOK Rail The Daniel Defense MFR 15.0 handguard is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized. It free floats the barrel for better accuracy and runs M-LOK attachment points along 7 positions, with an uninterrupted 1913 picatinny rail on top. That gives you room for an optic, magnifier, backup sights, a light and a laser, and lets you extend your support hand out toward the muzzle for faster, more controlled shooting. 16 Inch Cold Hammer Forged Barrel Daniel Defense hammer forges its barrels in house from chrome moly vanadium steel. Cold hammer forging packs the steel tight around a mandrel, which gives long barrel life and consistent accuracy. Each barrel is chrome lined, Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coated and HP/MPI tested. The V7 barrel is a 16 inch government profile with a 1:7 twist, which stabilizes the full range of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington bullet weights. The mid-length gas system runs through a pinned low profile gas block machined from hardened 4140 steel. Compared with a carbine-length system, mid-length gas gives a softer recoil impulse and less wear on moving parts. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 and wears the improved Daniel Defense flash suppressor, made of 17-4 PH stainless steel with a salt bath nitride finish, to cut down flash signature. The upper has indexing marks and M4 feed ramps, and the lower has an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear QD swivel attachment point. The bolt carrier group is M16 profile, Mil-Spec MP tested and chrome lined, with a properly staked gas key. An H buffer rides in the 6 position Mil-Spec receiver extension. The GRIP-N-RIP charging handle has independent latches on both sides, so left- and right-handed shooters can run the rifle the same way.
