A rolling loop of short, punchy climbs is where the RC910 S-PHYRE Women + Dura-Ace PD-R9100 Shoe & Pedal Package earns its place on a road bike. The road cycling shoe's carbon hollow core sole and the clipless pedal's carbon composite body stay rigid together, so the force from each pedal stroke travels to the cranks through one firm, connected path. A stainless steel body plate and wide platform spread that load across the sole, which keeps hot spots from building as the climbs stack up. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"Before the first hard ride, I bolted the cleats to the shoe's 3-bolt pattern, and they seated in the pedal on the first try. I set the tension light enough to clip in without thinking, then raised it once the efforts got serious, and the same pedals held firm the whole way through."
