evo.com | Never Summer Snowboards > Imagine the forecast: 25 inches overnight, the parking lot is chaos, and the race to first tracks has officially begun. The board waiting by the door? The Never Summer Proto Swift Snowboard. A slightly volume-shifted shape lets riders size down a few centimeters while still floating through bottomless snow, snapping into surf-inspired turns, and charging through the mountain with a smooth, effortless flow. Triple Camber drives explosive power, R.I.P. Edge Hold bites when conditions get rowdy, and strategically placed carbon keeps every slash, carve, and high-speed run locked in. UHMW Sidewall Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, UHMW POLYETHYLENE SIDEWALL maintain their integrity at any temperature. UHMW Polyethylene sidewalls also enhance damping characteristics above the metal edge. 2x4 Inserts Flex 7 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) Powersurf Wood Core A high percentage of lightweight Paulownia is combined with Poplar and Birch running down the middle of the core and Poplar along the sidecut edge. Adding strength and the optimum amount of torsional rigidity. THE POWERSURF WOOD CORE strategically combines these woods in crucial areas of the core for a durable yet lightweight feel. Precision Stitched Carbon Matrix A precision-engineered carbon laminate where carbon fibers are stitched and mapped into specific zones of the snowboard instead of being laid down in simple sheets. By varying the placement, orientation, and thickness of the carbon, Never Summer can tune exactly where the board is stiff, torsionally rigid, or energetic.
