What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"This is Filson doing what Filson does best, which is taking a utilitarian silhouette and building it from materials that actually hold up to the use case. The 10. 5-oz canvas is lighter than Tin Cloth but still tightly woven enough to handle brush and flying debris without flinching. The combination hand and cargo pocket design comes straight from vintage Filson field coats and it works as well now as it did then. Corduroy collar sits comfortably against bare skin. Machine washable, which matters when this jacket is doing real work. Fits true to size."The barn coat is one of those silhouettes that exists because it solves a problem rather than chases a trend, and the Filson Insulated Canvas Outfitter Jacket is built with exactly that logic in mind. The 10. 5-oz cotton canvas is tightly woven for tear strength and wind resistance, a straightforward barrier against the brush, thorns, and flying debris that accumulate over a full day working outside. The pocket design is taken directly from vintage Filson field coats, where hand pockets double as flaps over cargo pockets below, giving you storage that works in motion without adding unnecessary hardware to the front. Chip-resistant buttons secure the closure and the adjustable cuffs, a detail that matters when you're reaching into tight spaces repeatedly. A corduroy-lined collar keeps bare skin comfortable through long wear, and PrimaLoft synthetic insulation adds warmth without weight alongside a flannel body lining. This is a jacket that machine washes, holds its shape, and gets more comfortable the more it's worn.
