At the trailhead, the BCA Stash 40L Ultralight Pack takes its load through a roll top that stretches 40 liters of storage to 42, and compression straps cinch the pack down when the load runs light. A dedicated shovel and probe compartment keeps those tools in their own space, while A-frame and diagonal ski carry, vertical snowboard carry, helmet carry, and ice axe carry hold the rest of the gear outside. A support frame holds the shape of this ski touring pack. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"On long climbs I can reach my essentials from the Side Stash pocket and the hip belt pockets while the pack stayed on my back. The pace stayed steady because the things I needed most were always within reach."
