The head opening is mostly for reference for pittie-types and other big-headed pups! For more info on jacket fit, check out our measuring guide . The Wilderdog fleece jacket fits over OR under our harness. If you prefer to use the back mounted d-ring on the harness, you'll want to put the jacket under the harness. If you prefer to use the chest mounted d-ring, the jacket can go over or under the harness. A leash clips easily onto a collar d-ring while the jacket is being worn.
