UST - Ultimate Survival Technologies BlastMatch Fire Starter Features The UST BlastMatch Fire Starter was developed on the premise that an operator may have only one working hand so its mechanism generates sparks with a simple one handed press rather than requiring a striking motion. The flint bar rotates a full 360 degrees inside the housing spreading wear evenly so the unit keeps producing strong sparks over its full four thousand strike lifespan. A directional spark path lets the user aim sparks precisely onto tinder including UST WetFire tinder for faster ignition. It performs reliably in rain and other adverse weather making it a trustworthy backup when matches or lighters fail. Closed the BlastMatch measures a compact 4.1 by 1.4 by 1 inches and weighs just 2.3 ounces so it adds almost nothing to a pack or pocket kit. A safety button guards against accidental sparks while the tool rides in a bag alongside other gear. Finished in Green for easy visibility in a pack it is built for hikers hunters and emergency preparedness kits alike. Anyone who wants a rugged one handed fire starting tool that performs in wet conditions will find the BlastMatch a dependable addition to their kit.
