Savage 301 Turkey XP Compact Features The Savage 301 Turkey XP Compact uses a simple incredibly reliable break open action that single shot shotguns have relied on for generations chambered for .410 GA with a full 3 inch chamber to handle heavy turkey payloads. The 22 inch barrel is optimized for Federal Premium HEAVYWEIGHT TSS turkey loads giving hunters dense consistent patterns at the ranges turkeys are typically taken. An extra full choke ships installed matched to the barrel s Win Choke pattern and the matte black finish on the carbon steel barrel and receiver resists glare in bright field conditions. A manual hammer blocking safety adds a layer of security during handling in the blind or on the move between setups. Up top a removable one piece rail arrives with a 1x30 red dot already mounted and bore sighted so the gun is ready to shoulder and shoot without a trip to the range first. The synthetic stock and fore end are finished in Mossy Oak Bottomland camouflage and sized for a compact fit with swivel studs on both the stock and fore end for a sling. A front bead sight backs up the red dot as a secondary aiming reference and the recoil pad helps tame the heavier TSS loads this gun is built around. Ambidextrous and sized down for smaller-framed hunters the Savage 301 Turkey XP Compact is a dedicated turkey gun built to get young and new hunters into the field.
