LWRC SIX8 Features The LWRC SIX8 Pistol is built around short-stroke gas piston operation delivering reliable cycling with less fouling in the action compared to direct impingement designs. Chambered in 6.8 SPC II the cartridge was developed under the Enhanced Rifle Cartridge Program to address terminal performance shortfalls in 5.56 NATO while letting the shooter carry a similar round count with only a modest weight penalty. The heavier 6.8 projectile delivers more impact energy than 5.56 across all effective ranges helping bridge the lethality gap between 5.56 and 7.62 NATO. An 8.5 inch cold hammer forged barrel with Black Nitride finish and a 1 in 10 inch twist rate pairs with an A2 birdcage flash hider and threaded muzzle for a compact reliable package. LWRC partnered with Magpul to solve the historic reliability problems of 6.8 magazines producing the first polymer 6.8 PMAG with a wider body reinforced walls and a red follower for easy identification. The upper and lower receivers are purpose-built around that magazine geometry and the cartridge s feed requirements rather than adapted from a standard 5.56 AR. M-LOK handguards a Picatinny top rail and fully ambidextrous controls including safety and magazine release make the SIX8 usable for right- or left-handed shooters without compromise. Skirmish BUIS front and rear sights are included for immediate use without an optic.
