Kent Southern Reserve Dove Features Kent Cartridge Southern Reserve Dove shotshells are built around a lead #7.5 shot payload weighing 11/16 ounce a combination tuned for the fast erratic flight patterns typical of dove and other small upland birds. The .410 gauge platform keeps recoil light making these shells comfortable for extended shooting sessions in the field or at the range. A 3 inch shell length allows for a slightly larger powder charge than shorter .410 loads helping these shells reach a muzzle velocity of 1150 fps. That velocity paired with the #7.5 shot size produces the dense even pattern that small game hunting demands at typical dove hunting ranges. Packed 25 shells to a box the Southern Reserve Dove line gives hunters a practical quantity for a day afield without the bulk of a larger case purchase. The .410 gauge platform appeals to hunters who want a lighter-recoiling gun for long days of wing shooting and this load is matched to that gauge s performance characteristics. Reliable ignition and consistent shot patterns matter most when birds are moving fast and shots must be taken quickly and this load is built around exactly that scenario.
