Iver Johnson Hawk Commander Features The Iver Johnson Arms Hawk Commander is built as a Series 70 pistol meaning it has no firing pin block and instead relies on a flat serrated steel mainspring housing built to hold up to the rigors of everyday shooting. A forged slide and cast frame are CNC machined and then hand fitted to exceptionally tight tolerances with each slide fit to its individual frame for a precise out of the box feel. The 4.25 inch barrel is ported working alongside a ported and serrated slide to vent gas and reduce muzzle rise during rapid fire in .45 ACP. A finger relief cut near the trigger guard improves comfort and control for a more natural shooting grip. Matte black finishing covers both the steel frame and slide giving the Hawk Commander a classic understated duty appearance. Checkered double diamond walnut grips add both visual heritage and a secure non-slip hold under recoil while the steel frame s integrated beavertail protects the shooter s hand from slide bite. Kensight dovetail front and Novak LoMount rear sights give a fast durable sighting system suited to both range and defensive use. Each Hawk Commander ships with one magazine a gun lock an owner s manual and a hard black plastic lockable case giving shooters everything needed to start running this classic ported 1911 Commander right away.
