Bsf Barrels Button Rifled Barrel Features The Bsf Barrels Button Rifled Barrel starts with a 416R stainless steel match barrel that is turned down before being jacketed in a roll wrapped carbon fiber sleeve loaded under tension. This tensioned wrapping method was chosen specifically because wrapping a barrel directly in carbon fiber has been proven to trap heat and cause delamination over time. The carbon fiber material is engineered to expand at the same rate as the 416R steel underneath it which keeps the two materials bonded and the rifling straight even as the barrel heats up during sustained fire. Button rifling cuts a smooth consistent bore that supports repeatable accuracy shot after shot in the .223 Rem chambering. Because the carbon fiber jacket is under tension rather than simply bonded to the surface the barrel maintains superior stiffness and strength while cutting significant weight compared to a comparable steel profile. The 18 length pairs with a 1:8 twist rate to stabilize a wide range of .223 Rem bullet weights while six grooves and a .936 diameter round out the rifling specifications. A 5/8x24 thread pattern at the muzzle gives shooters a ready mount for a brake compensator or suppressor without additional gunsmithing. At 38.3 oz this barrel is a smart upgrade for anyone building a lightweight precision rifle for sale at GrabAGun.
