DoubleTap Hunter Features The DoubleTap Ammunition Hunter load in .45 Colt is built around a 255 grain hard cast semi-wadcutter bullet a bullet shape chosen specifically for its ability to punch a straight deep wound channel without expanding or fragmenting. Launched at 975 fps for 538 ft lbs of muzzle energy this load is tuned to deliver serious penetration on big game and dangerous animals encountered in the backcountry. The flat-nosed semi-wadcutter profile also feeds reliably through revolvers chambered for the long Colt cartridge. DoubleTap positions this round as an excellent woods load for hunters who need confidence against animals that can fight back. Each box ships with 20 brass-cased rounds giving hunters and outdoorsmen enough rounds on hand for a day afield or a dedicated defense load in a revolver. The hard cast bullet construction reduces barrel leading compared to softer lead bullets while still delivering the penetration depth that premium hunting ammunition demands. DoubleTap builds this load for shooters who carry a .45 Colt revolver specifically for protection against bears and other large predators. This is a precision purpose-built round rather than a generic range load suited to anyone who needs reliable penetration in a defensive or hunting situation.
