The Model 1854 is the first modern-lever action from Smith & Wesson commemorating the year when the original founders of the company patented their first lever-action rifle. The rifle combines both traditional and modern features and sports a large lever loop for use with gloves and a removable magazine tube along with a side loading gate in the receiver for topping off the magazine. A receiver-mounted 1913 Picatinny rail also allows for quick and easy optics mounting and is paired with a threaded barrel for use with suppressors and other aftermarket muzzle devices. This model is chambered in .45-70 Government and includes a Vortex Crossfire HD 2-7x32 rifle scope. The Crossfire HD series is an update to Vortex's budget-friendly line of optics featuring improved lens coatings to improve light transmission along with increased durability for better all-weather performance. The internal magazine tube has a 6-round capacity.
