This is a sporterized German Mauser K98 bolt-action rifle chambered in the original 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm) caliber. The rifle has been modified from its original military configuration with a sporter-style stock and features an added scope mount on the receiver. The firearm is in fair condition. The metal surfaces show thinning bluing, patina, and light surface pitting. The wood sporter stock has handling marks, dings, and scuffs throughout from field use, but it contains no cracks or structural damage. Mechanically, the bolt functions normally and locks securely. The bore is dark with wear consistent with surplus age, but it retains distinct rifling. Please examine the photos to verify the cosmetic details.
