The Atomic Maven 86 C Ski comes matched with the Defiance 11 GripWalk Binding, so the ski's light, nimble feel never outpaces what the binding can hold. The Maven 86 C's carbon and fiberglass construction keeps the ski quick edge to edge without feeling nervous underfoot, and the Defiance 11's wide AFD plate and 3. 5-11 DIN range give that speed somewhere secure to land. Four-roller LX toe retention keeps the boot centered through chop and variable snow, so the binding never feels like the limiting factor. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I carved hard into a refrozen section expecting to feel the binding hesitate, and it held exactly where I put it. This setup skis like the binding was built for the ski, not just bolted onto it."
