Traditions Smackdown Features The Traditions Smackdown loads quickly and easily without a sabot which saves precious seconds when a shot window is closing on a hunt. The polymer tip is engineered to drive straight into the lead core on impact initiating fast and controlled expansion that is tuned for big game performance at muzzleloader velocities. Inside the bullet the polymer base features a post that swells upon ignition improving torque engagement and helping the bullet stabilize in flight for better downrange accuracy. The skirt is designed to engage the rifling directly maximizing energy transmission from the charge into the bullet for consistent terminal results shot after shot. Interlock rings run through the bullet s core to help it retain weight through deep penetration so the Smackdown keeps working after it reaches vitals rather than fragmenting prematurely. A tough copper alloy jacket wraps the lead core and works alongside those rings to control expansion while still punching through heavy muscle and bone on tough shots. At .50 Cal .499 diameter and 340 grains with a 0.315 ballistic coefficient this load is built specifically for serious muzzleloader hunters chasing deer elk and other big game at realistic hunting ranges. Colorado compliant and packaged 12 to a box the Traditions Smackdown ELD-X is for sale at GrabAGun for hunters who want Hornady-engineered performance in their muzzleloader season.
