SOG Knives and XL Entrenching Tool Features The SOG Knives XL Entrenching Tool is built around a tempered high carbon steel blade with sharp teeth giving it the ability to dig through tough ground and also saw or chop through tree limbs and brush. A black powder coated finish protects the steel from corrosion and wear after repeated use in dirt mud and harsh outdoor conditions. The collapsible design expands to 23.25 inches for full leverage while digging and folds down to just 10 inches for compact storage. That range of motion lets the tool work as a full size shovel in the field and still fit behind a truck seat or in a pack when not in use. A distinctive triangular handle sets the SOG XL Entrenching Tool apart from a standard folding shovel giving users a stronger and more comfortable grip while digging fire pits or clearing a campsite. The high carbon steel construction is rated for long lasting performance in harsh conditions where lesser tools bend or snap. A ballistic nylon sheath is included to protect the folded tool and its edge during transport and storage. Finished entirely in Black the SOG XL Entrenching Tool is a rugged grab and go option for camping overlanding and emergency preparedness.
