Smith and Wesson Special Ops Features The Smith and Wesson Special Ops uses a push button automatic opening mechanism giving users fast reliable one-handed deployment of the 3.4 drop point blade. A button locking mechanism paired with a dedicated safety switch keeps the blade securely locked in the open position while also preventing accidental deployment during storage or transport. The AUS-8A stainless steel blade offers a solid balance of edge retention and ease of sharpening making it a practical steel choice for an everyday carry automatic knife. At 7.8 open and 4.4 closed the knife is sized to be a genuine full size option rather than a compromise. Black aluminum handle scales keep the knife lightweight while still standing up to the wear of daily carry and use. A deep carry reversible pocket clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket and configured for left or right-handed carry preference. Assembled in the USA the Special Ops reflects Smith and Wesson s trusted quality standards applied to a modern push button automatic design. Smith and Wesson also offers this Special Ops platform in a California compliant mini version giving shoppers an option regardless of their state s knife laws.
