A dual rubber friction system inside each shell holder keeps rounds locked in place during recoil movement or rough handling so shells stay put until the shooter needs them. The carrier attaches to the receiver by way of a lightweight aluminum back plate fitted with brass threaded inserts giving a strong repeatable mounting point. This design keeps the whole side saddle light while still standing up to the punishment a duty or field shotgun sees. The included 4.75 inch Picatinny rail is machined from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum and mil-spec hard anodized for a durable non-glare matte black finish that resists wear and corrosion.
