Kershaw Steppe Features The Kershaw Steppe is built around a D2 high-carbon tool steel blade prized for its wear resistance toughness and excellent edge retention under hard use. A stonewashed finish on the 3.5 inch drop point blade helps hide use scratches that accumulate over time keeping the knife looking presentable long after it has seen real work. The full-tang construction runs the blade s steel the entire length of the handle giving the Steppe the strength needed for batoning prying and other demanding outdoor tasks. A pinch grip hole near the blade allows the user to choke up for greater control during finer cutting work. Polypropylene handle scales are textured front and back and finished with a thermoplastic rubber overmold for a solid comfortable grip in wet or dry conditions. Beneath the scales sits a skeletonized steel frame which can be exposed by removing the outer scales for owners who want to customize the knife with aftermarket handle options.
