JP Rifles Silent Captured Spring Gen 2 Features The JP Rifles Silent Captured Spring Gen 2 eliminates the familiar clatter of a conventional buffer bouncing against a loose spring by containing the spring and buffer as one captured self-damping assembly. The carefully balanced custom-ground spring works with the JP LMOS buffer to cut friction and vibration during cycling smoothing out the recoil impulse shot to shot. A lighter aluminum guide rod trims overall reciprocating weight which helps keep the system responsive rather than sluggish. The result is a noticeably quieter smoother-cycling AR-15 without welding pinning or otherwise permanently altering the rifle. Included with the Gen 2 system are three stainless steel weights giving the shooter a way to fine-tune bolt carrier mass and correspond it to H1 H2 and H3 buffer weights for a particular gas system or ammunition. That tuning range matters most on rifles without an adjustable gas block where matching spring rate and buffer mass to the gun is the only way to dial in reliable cycling. A spacer is included so the same unit installs correctly in either a carbine-length or rifle-length buffer tube. Because the buffers are interchangeable the same core system can be adapted between AR-15 and AR-10 builds as needs change.
