Crickett My First Rifle Features The Crickett My First Rifle Gen2 is a single shot bolt action rimfire chambered in .22 LR designed from the ground up as a dedicated first rifle for young shooters rather than a scaled down adult gun. Its 16.10 inch blued steel barrel carries a 1:16 twist suited to standard .22 LR ammunition and the drilled and tapped receiver readily accepts a scope base for shooters who want to add an optic as skills progress. A crossbolt safety combined with a rebounding firing pin automatically blocks the firing pin to help prevent an accidental discharge giving instructors and parents added peace of mind during range sessions. At roughly 30 inches overall and under 3 pounds the rifle s scaled down dimensions fit smaller hands and shorter arms far better than a full size .22. The Generation 2 design builds on the original Crickett platform by adding an EZ Loader feed ramp that simplifies chambering a round for new shooters still learning proper handling technique. Factory installed swivel studs come standard on this Gen2 model letting a sling be added immediately without any gunsmithing. The synthetic stock finished in Purple with Black Webbing gives the rifle a fun distinctive look that can help make a young shooter s first experience with a firearm more engaging and memorable. Keystone Sporting Arms has built the Crickett brand since 1996 specifically around the idea of a rifle scaled correctly for youth and this My First Rifle continues that mission.
